VC 2 went on a class trip to Stew Leonards to learn all about the concept of "farm to table". They toured the store, nursery, and mini-farm. They learned all about sustainability and where our foods come from. They even met "Lenny the Lobster"!
Mrs. McElroy’s class is getting ready to start their very own indoor garden. They went to Randall’s Island Urban Farm to learn more about planting and farming. The children got to plant seeds at the farm. They also harvested different vegetables and prepared a stir fry meal to share. They learned all about “farm to table”. It was a great experience, especially when they got to feed and hold the exotic chickens. The staff and students had a wonderful time and are looking forward to visiting the farm again in the spring.
