Edward R. Finch Library

Our Edward R. Finch Library offers a wide selection of emerging reader, juvenile, and young adult fiction books in print, large print, and English Braille for students in the Schermerhorn K-12 program.
Each week, students take library classes where they learn how to search our entire collection quickly and easily through our integrated library management system.
Throughout the year, we consistently add new books to our collection to meet the wide range of interests of our students, who also utilize the space for their studies during breaks and afterschool.
Readiness students take field trips to the library often to visit with our Librarian and explore books in our early readers collections to support their early literacy development.
During Read Across America Month in March, visiting authors join us in the library to read to students and teach them about the process of writing and publishing books, including Alona Kimble, who is also a parent of one of our students and the author of " Mommy, what do you see?" and "James Goes to School."
