Reading at Home

Supporting reading in the classroom and at home, student's parents, families, and caregivers are encouraged to read early and often to their children and build an at home library with selections in print, large print and braille.

If possible, setting a daily or nightly family reading time is a great way to ensure students read daily. For those who are not yet independent readers, reading-a-loud to them and listen as a family to audio books is a great way to support the development of their reading skills.
