Schermerhorn students learn coding at Apple Store

NYISE students took a field trip this week to the Apple Store for a course on computer coding. The students are participating Computer Science Education Week and are using the code.org website to learn coding.

The Genius Bar instructors were very knowledgeable, and the students had a great time in the class.

Technology has become an important part of literacy for our students at the New York Institute for Special Education. Every student is provided with a personal iPad that he or she can use at school. All computers have appropriate access technology for screen reading and large print. The school supports curricula goals and IEPs with subscriptions to online, server-based, age appropriate software and websites.

Learn more about the technology at NYISE at this page.
