Powerful winds from Tropical Storm Isaias battered the school on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. It was mostly city trees that caused damage. Some had been reported previously to the city but no action had been taken. One of the newer flowering trees by the guardhouse got tipped over, but several sections of the iron fence surrounding the campus will need replacing. The general consensus was that this storm was worse than Hurricane Sandy.
