The Thorpe Family Residence, Inc. has a facility on Crotona Avenue in the Bronx. It provides a safe and peaceful transitional environment for mothers and their children. Programs assist mothers in gaining the skills and confidence needed to secure employment, manage the stress of parenting, and finally secure permanent housing.<br>The Van Cleve Student Council recently held a collection for Thorpe's afterschool program. The VC students recently delivered the donations to the program as part of their Women's History Month festivities.
