(02/01/12) MOUNT VERNON - A 14-year-old Mount Vernon teenager who has overcome obstacles and met challenges her entire life will attempt another milestone when she competes in this year's Braille Challenge.
"You just read and answer questions. I do that all the time and I'm very fast at that and accurate," says Kalah Dolman, who was diagnosed with cancer in both eyes when she was a toddler.
Kalah had surgery to remove her eyes and is cancer-free.
"She's dynamic, she's absolutely dynamic," says her teacher, Jackie Banschbach. "She takes advantage of every single opportunity given to her in the school and outside the school as well."
