On March 11th, a staff member reported that they had been with a friend who works with an individual who was diagnosed with COVID-19. The friend is not presenting with any symptoms. The NYISE staff member was sent home today because of minor cold symptoms. This is a precaution for the staff member and the NYISE community.
The NYISE staff member is not presenting with any symptoms of COVID-19.
Please go onto the NYISE Website to review the COVID-19 Plan for NYISE. You will see that we plan to send staff and students home who present with respiratory symptoms. This is a precaution for the person and those at NYISE.
I know that this is a scary time for everyone. It is important not to participate in any rumors that you will hear. If you have a concern you should contact me or Lisa Blasone in HR.
We will continue to monitor this situation and update you if necessary.
