Extended School Year Program and Adissions

To be enrolled in the Extended School Year Program, a student must be enrolled in the Schermerhorn Program and have been identified through the IEP process as a child who exhibits the need for a 12-month program provided in a structured learning environment of up to 12 months duration to prevent substantial regression.

For more details on how this is determined, follow this external link to the New York State Department of Education website using this external link https://www.nysed.gov/special-education/extended-school-year-programs-and-services-questions-and-answers.

Once placed in our Extended School Year Program, students join us on campus for 5-weeks in July and early August to continue learning and building their academic, social, and ADL skills through direct and indirect instruction and participation in activities both on and off-campus.
