Erin Taylor
I feel privileged to be able to nominate Mrs. Erin Taylor as the recipient of the N.Y.I.S.E. Shining Stars Award for March. As an Occupational Therapist, Erin works tirelessly to help teach and motivate her students to develop skills that are necessary to increase their independence. She is dedicated to helping them not only function academically but to also be able to socialize with their peers. Erin’s commitment to the field of Occupational Therapy is not solely limited to her loving interactions with her students. She is always eager to share her outstanding knowledge with her colleagues as well as Occupational Therapy interns. Her compassion for all that she comes in contact with is truly evident on a daily basis! - Jackie Becker |
Anthony Gerbasi
My choice for this month is Anthony Gerbasi. Anthony is a hard worker and a true team player as well as a great informal asset who walks the extra mile and goes above and beyond with his students and puts others before him. He is very helpful and you can depend on him when help is needed in any situation and reports if any incident or circumstance may occur. He loves what he does and wants everyone he works with to reach their full potential. Thank you for your diligence and dedication, Anthony. - Julian Johnson |

Giselle Cruz
Since I transitioned to the VC building, it is a pleasure getting to know Miss. Giselle Cruz better. She always has a warm smile on her and a cheery greeting for all. Miss Cruz has gracefully, said yes to working in the Starlight Café on Fridays with the Schermerhorn and Van Cleve students, and filling in when there is a need. She brings her own special creativity and ideas to the café to help the students to learn customer service skills. She is kind-hearted, loving and very supportive of her VC students. She is never frazzled in tough situations. Miss Cruz’s calm demeanor and positive attitude is a joy to witness and be around. - Rosalind Wright
