As our swim team heads out for the first tournament of the 2016-17 sports season, NYI held a pep rally to support them and all our Athletic Teams. We have teams competing in cheerleading, basketball, bowling, wrestling, track and field and goalball.<br><br>The theme for the event was "Each Star has a Superhero Inside". Students were encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero. They had a great time showing off their costumes.<br><br>The event ended with a series of challenges for the staff and students. The challenges included two coaches competing in a cup stacking contest and some of the younger students playing "Catch the Joker".<br><br>We wish our swim team GOOD LUCK this weekend in the Eastern Athletics Association for the Blind Tournament at the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia. <br><br>Photographers: James Rivera and Kevin Figueroa
