Our Trip to Jerome Park Reservoir<br><br>On Monday September 22, two 10th grade classes which are group 20 and 22 visited Jerome Park Reservoir. It's located in Jerome Park in North Bronx, New York. It was built in 1906 and the purpose was to supply water to parts of NYC. The size of the Reservoir is 2.3 miles.The Reservoir is a large natural or artificial lake used as a source of water supply. In the park, there are two sides of the Reservoir for instance if one side is repairing or not working then the other would take over or vice versa. The amount of water in the Reservoir is about 800 million gallons of water.<br><br>The water comes from New Croton Aqueduct and its located in the Catskills of upstate NY. An aqueduct is a bridge like system built to move water from one place to another. Everyday we lose about 20 million gallons of water by the aqueducts leakage. Over the past 5 years the Reservoir has become more dry and the water has gotten low to a level as it shouldn't be.<br><br>In my opinion I had such a good time and experience. We had very nice tour guides who were Matt and Cindy. They took us on a walk and taught us a lot about the Reservoir which we never knew. My favorite part of the trip was when we got into groups and made aqueducts.
