Subject: TECH: talking pager and speech friendly fax software There was mention of a speech friendly package for sending faxes on blind-l I've added http://www.eurisco.com to the VIPACE vendors page. They also have a audio CD player and menu program available. Curtis Chong gave this report on the NFB lists: While attending the CSUN conference in Los Angeles, I came across a pager which converts text to speech. This means that the blind now have the ability to receive and read alpha paged messages. I was told that the voice pager would cost around $270. For those of you who are interested, here is the contact information: NeuroPage Larry Treadgold, President 6657 Camelia Drive San Jose, California 95120 Phone: 408-997-7017 Fax: 408-268-4146 Email: neuropage@aol.com This is really text to speech conversion: no pre-recorded digitized words. Admittedly, the speech was not very impressive, but it was understandable.
