St. Petersburg, Florida - Henter-Joyce, Inc., the designer and manufacturer of the computer screen reading software JAWS for Windows (JFW), has reached an OEM licensing agreement with Digital Equipment Corporation. Through this agreement, Henter-Joyce now offers the DECtalk Access32 software synthesizer for $150 with purchases of JFW version 3.0 or upgrades to version 3.0. This price represents an 85 percent cost savings over the previous generation of DECtalk hardware synthesizer technology. Henter-Joyce will be shipping DECtalk Access32 software by October 1, 1997.
JFW and DECtalk Access32 technology provide the most responsive and convenient screen reading package in the industry. DECtalk Access32 software works directly with standard sound cards on desktop or laptop computers running Windows 95 or NT. Since no extra hardware is required, this software package provides a streamlined and cost effective screen reading solution.
This new product line will augment Henter-Joyce's mission of providing computer access tools for people who are blind, visually impaired, or reading impaired. JFW 3.0 versions are available for both Windows 95 and Windows NT. Both versions support DOS windows. Site and district licenses are available for both JFW and DECtalk Access32 software. Shipping and handling is additional.
