Subject: Audio Magazine Update

The date for the appearance of the inaugural issue of Sound Computing, the audio computer magazine for all, is drawing closer, and the end of the subscription special for the recorded edition is closer still. the latest information is available on my web page, http://www.eskimo.com/~deamar, and I can also email it to you. It contains the list of articles to appear in the first issue, the general philosophy of the magazine, and details on how to subscribe.

A few highlights:

1. since my wife and I appear to have an unexpected chance to get away together for the first time in a while, the first issue will appear around Feb. 17.

2. New vendor able to take credit card subscriptions: disability specialtys (not a misspelling!) isable@newwave.net, (888) 892-7878.

3. The $19.00 offer for domestic subscriptions to the cassette edition expires on January 31.

4. If it all fits, the February issue will contain reviews of off-the-shelf OcR packages, an article about Internet phone programs, one on how to choose a braille embosser, an interview on the current state of adaptive technology legal protection in the U.S., and information from manufacturers of screen readers.

If you want a full copy of the blurb by email, let me know. this magazine will offer a way for those few of us on the net to share our knowledge with the growing number of blind computer users worldwide.

I look forward to your comments, questions and subscriptions.
