      5. Full Rulles Internet Jump Station A searchable database of Disability Resources based in Norway. Great use of frames. (Norwegian version available)
      6. Indie: The Integrated Network of Disability Information and Education- very comprehensive list with Visual Impairment links
      7. Internet Resources for Special Educators: This page was created for anyone interested or working in the areas of special education or disabilities, including: teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and researchers.
      8. LVRGNet is the world-wide-web interface for the Low Vision Research Group (LVRG), providing an Internet resource for researchers, clinicians, and others with an interest in low vision.
      9. Macular Degeneration Foundation is dedicated to educating people about macular degeneration: the various forms of the disease; the status of research into genetic and other causes; new developments in treatment and adaptive technology; and advice on how to cope with reduced or lost central vision. The Foundation's newsletter, The Magnifier, is printed with extra large type and is free.
      10. Maxi-Aids is one of the largest distributors of products for people with Special Needs. They have several thousand products for daily living.
      11. Metaphor: is a macro-based screen-reader designed to enable visually impaired people to use Cubase, a leading audio and midi sequencer.
      12. Narrative Television Network (NTN): Founded in 1988 by Jim Stovall, NTN's Emmy award-winning technology has opened television to blind and visually impaired individuals. NTN's full-length motion pictures are reproduced with an additional soundtrack between the existing dialogue to unobtrusively describe costumes, settings, action and other visual elements that are essential to storylines.

      22. Vortex 2.0, by Tenax Software Engineering ($39.95): a power reading tool for the Microsoft Windows operating environment. It can presents one word at a time, any speed, any size and in various typefaces allowing the user to read at serveral times normal rate. (I have not used it but it may be worth exloring the shareware version)
