      1. NEW AT THE 'tute

        • Latest Version of What's New
        • Visit a new area of personal pages by the students of NYISE.
          I am currently teaching several students HTML and they will be creating pages for the website. Some of the pages may be a little raw around the edges, so please accept these pages as the works in progress that they are.

      2. New LYNX links:

        • lynx.browser.org: A central repository and index for information about Lynx
        • Lynx-View: To see what your page will look like on lynx
        • Extremely Lynx
        • The Web Design Group was founded to promote the creation of non-browser specific, non-resolution specific, creative and informative sites that are accessible to all users worldwide. Such sites need not be boring and non-graphical.

      3. The Productivity Works has released Webspeak v1.3.
      4. The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped is now accessible on the web. Currently, the website is similar in content to the NLS section of the Library of Congress gopher. To obtain a guide to searching the catalog by FTP at ftp.loc.gov/pub/NLS/online.search.guide . The NLS web address is: http://lcweb.loc.gov/nls/nls.html

        Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in adults. Although sight loss from glaucoma can often be prevented through early detection and treatment, many people don't realize they have the disease until permanent damage has occurred. For this reason, it's important to have regular eye examinations that include testing for glaucoma, and to become familiar with the risk factors and warning signs of the disease.
