This year the Van Cleve Black History Month Celebration takes the form of a march. Our march takes place February 26, 2009 at 10:00am. The Van Cleve staff and students are advocating the use of non-violent protest. We have studied different aspects of the civil rights movement and have decided to pay homage to those who paved the way for equality. In preparation for our march, we have viewed movies such as The Children’s March and Mighty Times. These movies have helped us in understanding the importance of tolerance. They have also helped us in preparing our stations. Please enjoy some of the pictures below which display some of the hard work that went into preparing for our march.
